Uganda's comedians should consider taking their gigs up country where their jokes will probably still sound and feel fresh.

Such was the occasion at Lira hotel as droves of fans lovers filled the hall at the hotel.

Renowned comedians Patrick 'Salvado' Idringi, Alex Muhangi, Prince Emma and Ronnie Macvex who have cut their niche in stand-up comedy signed under Mirinda comedy have traversed the country.

From Laftaz Lounge, the comedians have taken the comedy dose to the countryside.

On the weekend, they were in the northern Uganda district of Lira cracking up town residents at Lira hotel.

First on stage were some apprentice comedians who curtain raised for the real acts of the night.

The crowds filled the hall and by 9pm, all was set.

Comedian Emma Napoleone may be from eastern Uganda, but those who watched him perform in Lira for the first time Friday evening enjoyed his jokes.

The host of the night was Ronnie Macvex who stirred up the revellers before introducing Prince Emma alias Napoleone. Known for his Luo jokes of Latigo and Atimango, Napoleone cracked the revellers and left them in stitches.  He delivered on his mirth as the crowd connected with some jokes he did in Luo.

What blew away the crowds was the joke of school bullies who in secondary school would ask you to whistle your name and underline it.

He also joked about the idea of balanced diet in his family due to extreme poverty.

He cracked a joke about his family being so broke that they would eat in shifts, breakfast being for the father while the children had lunch and the mother ate supper.

Next was Alex Muhangi who read through the list of jokes he was set to perform.

Likening himself to RnB singer Ne-Yo who performed last month in Kampala, he looked at a piece of paper before the next performance at the concert in Lugogo.

Here he joked about the Automated Toilet Machine where one would need a card with money loaded onto it before you make the "deposit transaction" and all this would depend on how much you wanted to "deposit".

Patrick 'Salvado' Idringi, was the man the crowd looked out for; famed for his jokes about northerners was at it again.

The man from Ombokolo warmed up the seemingly tired fans with some music as his signature tune.

A little after midnight, after Salvado had worked them, Nutty Neithan hit the stage with his hit song Bakuwe Kyonywa that closed the comedy show.
