A total of 1,064 students have graduated in various disciplines at the 5th graduation ceremony of Cavendish University.
They were awarded degrees, diplomas, and certificates in Business, Journalism and Mass communication, Information Technology and Economics.
A total of 774 of the students received Bachelor’s degrees, 86 Master’s degrees, 8 post graduate Diplomas, 55 undergraduate diplomas and 141 certificates, at a colourful event held at Speke Resort, Munyonyo on Wednesday.

The graduation was presided over by former Tanzanian president, Benjamin Mkapa, who serves as the University’s Chancellor.
Mkapa urged the graduands to be innovative while applying the acquired skills in the working field, saying it is the only way they will impact the development of the East African region.
In a speech read for her, Education minister Jessica Alupo, congratulated graduands upon reaching what she referred to as a beginning of success in their careers.

She further asked all higher institutions of learning to work with the government to produce a workforce that can compete on the global market.
