The widow of former Chief examination secretary and   deputy secretary of UNEB Gaetano Bahemuka has said that she will miss the love of her husband, who was hardworking and developmental.


Eulogising him duting a requiem mass at Namilyango Catholic Parish Church on Wednesday, Mary Louise Bahemuka told mourners her husband was a hustler, who wanted  to work and also serve the nation.

“He was posted to Gulu and the temperatures were so hot that he asked to be transferred,” said Mary Louise, as  she gave the history of her husband, who once was also a police instructor.

“He was a family man. He loved his family and we will greatly miss him,” she said of  Bahemuka, who succumbed to  number of internal complications and cancer on Monday. He was laid to rest on Wednesday.

Bahemuka served as chief Examination Secretary in the education ministry (1972-1980) and Deputy Secretary of UNEB in charge of the primary section (1980-1986).

He also served as the acting principal of the national college of business studies, Nakawa and a liaison officer of Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

"Bahemuka was an unusual man. He loved life and appreciated the gift of life including people who he loved without discrimination and people's talents which he passionately sought to nurture. It was also probably because he was a believer and loved God," said  Prime minister Ruhakana Rugunda in a speech read to him  by state minister for primary education Chrysostom Muyingo.

He was laid to rest at his home in Seeta.
