THE body of fallen MP for Okoro County in Zombo district, Stanley Omwonya has arrived at parliament for public viewing ahead of a special session to pay tribute to the deceased.

 

His body was received by deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah at Parliament.

 

Omwonya who has been a member of the parliament’s committees on local government accounts and foreign affairs, died on Monday at International Hospital in Namuwongo, Kampala.

 

“The country has lost a great man, a dedicated leader who worked for the country. We shall pray for your soul and rest in eternal peace,” Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the vice president wrote in a condolence book at parliament.

 

Parliament chaired by deputy speaker Oulanyah, will on Wednesday afternoon pay repects to Omwonya in a special sitting.
