A 70-year-old jilted lover has been left stranded after court ordered him to vacate the home he has been sharing with the mother of his 8 children.

Charles Wasswa, who has been living with his estranged wife for 30 years, was forcefully evicted by armed police from the house in Luweero town, following the order issued by the Luweero Grade 1 Magistrate Gideon Gidudu.

This is after Wasswa’s estranged wife, Christine Nambaziira, applied to Luweero Court to have him evacuated from the house she says she owns.

Nambaziira, 50, a born again pastor in Luweero town, in her application stated that she struggled on her own to build the home but Wasswa intends to grab it.

Nambaziira, who recently tied the knot with a 30-year-old man, further stated in her plaint that her former husband poisoned her twice.

She said Wasswa who is jobless, was staying in the house against her will. Nambaziira said she was ready to foot all the costs of transporting Wasswa and his belongings to another place.

“I pray that he immediately leaves my home so as to avert a looming danger that his continued presence in my home is posing,” Nambaziira told court.

Wasswa admitted that the home belonged to his wife and said he was willing to vacate it since Nambaziira had already brought another man to live there.

“Since there is evidence of danger in the home of the applicant and since the respondent has proved that the home does not belong to him, it is safer that the respondent leaves the applicant’s home immediately,” Gidudu said in his ruling.

Gidudu ordered the applicant to meet all the costs of transporting away her estranged wife and to allow the respondent to take all his belongings.

“The respondent is to take with him all his belongings so that in case the applicant has any dealings with him, she should be the one to visit him,” the Magistrate said.

Gidudu further said the children of the estranged couple, were free to decide for themselves which of their two parents to stay with since they are all old enough. The couple also has a pair of twins.
