Rugunda salutes Uganda-Rwanda relations

The Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has urged the Uganda High Commission staff in Kigali, Rwanda to ensure that the existing cordial relationship between Rwanda and Uganda is maintained.

He said the strong cooperation between the two countries can never be taken for granted.

“Perform your duties well to ensure that the relations between Rwanda and Uganda which are very good becomes even better,” said Rugunda.

The Premier made the remarks while meeting the Uganda High Commission staff in Rwanda at their offices in Kigali on Wednesday.

He said the solidarity between the people of Rwanda and Uganda should remain strong and mutually productive and beneficial.

Dr Rugunda was in Kigali to attend the Transform Africa Summit on behalf of President Yoweri Museveni.

The Premier congratulated the staff upon acquiring the new multi-billion Chancery building and also asked them to take good care of the government facility.

The 8.7 billion shillings new Chancery building in Kigali was opened in October, 2015 by Uganda’s High Commissioner to Rwanda Richard Kabonero.

Ambassador Kabonero guided the Premier on the tour of the new chancery complex which also has apartments.

Kabonero thanked government for raising the profile of the High Commission with the new Chancery building.
