Namayanja operated on, visitors restricted

NRM national treasurer, Rose Namayanja, who was involved in a motor accident, has been operated on by a team of orthopaedics led by Dr. Isaac Kajja.


She has been given 15 days to rest. Doctors have advised the public to allow her to rest.

“The brain is normal...and suffered a fractured femur. It has been fixed. The medical team has asked people to allow her to rest,” NRM secretariat communication officer, Rogers Mulindwa, said.

Namayanja’s body guard and a driver have been discharged, while her mother is being monitored in hospital.

Dr. Ben Mbonye, an orthopaedic surgeon and chief executive officer of Nakasero hospital, on Tuesday said: "Despite a fracture on her hip bone, she is out of danger."

On Tuesday about 11:00 am, a truck loaded with stones rammed into Namayanja's vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser) at Kigogwa near Matugga along Kampala- Gulu highway.

Namayanja was heading to Nakaseke district, for an official event at   Kasangombe health centre.
