Akope could not replicate his perfect start of two-under par 69 that had him lead for two days, in the subsequent rounds to surrender first place to Kenya’s Sunshine Tour professional Greg Snow.

Snow shook off a bad start to shoot a superb level par 284 to win the four-day, sh51m tournament.

Other Ugandans, Denis Anguyo, Phillip Kasozi and Vincent Byamukama finished in 17, 18 and 20th positions.

The next destination for Akope and co would be Dubai but for lack of sponsorship they might not make it.

The Ugandan contingent travelled to Mombasa courtesy of Fredrick Kitaka of Quality Chemicals, Joseph Yiga of Steel and tube industries, Kaka Matama and Oscar Semawere.
