Nakawa Chief Magistrate's Court has committed Ivan Kamyuka, accused of stabbing to death Jonnie Ahimbisibwe to High Court for trial.

Grade One Magistrate, Christine Nantege sent the accused to High Court after state prosecutor, Joyce Anyango submitted that investigations into the matter were complete.

"Investigations are complete and committal papers have been prepared with a purpose of sending the accused to High Court for trial. We therefore pray that Kamyuka be committed to High Court at Nakawa for the hearing of his case," she requested.

According to the indictment, Kamyuka on August 2, 2015 with malice aforethought killed Ahimbisibwe at Guvnor Club 40+.

Prosecution alleges that Kamyuka hit Ahimbisibwe with a piece of broken glass after he came out of the club toilets and found out that Ahimbisibwe had hit his wife Nina Nyarwaka with a glass.

The accused then picked a piece of broken sharp glass and stabbed the deceased with it on the left side of the neck.

The deceased collapsed as the deep cut injury bled profusely.

Kamyuka tried to escape but he was arrested.
