Vision Group’s flagship entrepreneurship engagement, famously called the “Pakasa forum” is back, this time around with a regional flavour.

The forum in its 6th season will be graced by East Africa’s leading young entrepreneurs.

These include: Kenya’s James Mworia, an investment company guru, Tanzania’s Patrick Ngowi, CEO for one of East Africa’s biggest solar energy companies, Rwanda’s Clarisse Iribagiza- CEO and co-founder of HeHe Limited, a leading mobile technologies Company, Uganda’s Noah Walakira, owner of a trailblazing knitting business and Burundi’s Ange Mayubira whose art Innovation Incubator named Kazo zah has had such a huge social impact on communities in this central African country.

Running under the theme: “How young people can build the success they want”,  the forum scheduled for September 19th this year at the Kampala Parents School, is dedicated to shaping the mindsets of young people in East Africa on achieving success.

“We aim to make them believe that success is achievable. We want them to know the factors that can lead to this. We hope that once they are enlightened they will take the initiative to improve themselves,” Robert Kabushenga, the Vision Group CEO said.

Kabushenga added that the forum is one of Vision Group’s ways of contributing to the growth of our society by focusing on finding solutions to the needs of the people.

Being young and successful, the panelists will provide a living example to the youthful audience of what it means to work hard and achieve success. “The incredible stories of their jouneys will certainly inspire the young audience,” Kabushenga said.

During the forum, the panelists will share their life stories with particular emphasis on how they have built their respective businesses. Thereafter, a discussion on the way forward for those stuck on making their first steps towards financial independence will ensue.

The other highlight of the day will be an undisclosed ‘big and exciting’ Pakasa forum initiative announcement and as Kabushenga said, every young person should look forward to.

Plans are also underway to ensure a regional live broadcast of the proceeding on the different television channels in the respective countries.

Though the main target audience for the forum is the youth, parents and guardians are invited to attend as partners with their children. But also to provide the moral support as young people set out to re-focus their lives after the forum.

Uganda has one of the youngest populations globally a trend that analysts believe can be harnessed to effect development or might as well be a recipe for disaster in future.
