Seals league continues to expose youngsters

Seals Swim Club's Mark Wandera emerged the best swimmer over the two days as the third Seals League meet ended at Kampala Parents School swimming pool on Sunday.

Swimming in the boys 11-12 years category, Wandera collected 46 points to set himself on course for the overall category winners' prize ahead of the last meet due in December.

On Sunday, Wandera won the 200m backstroke, 200m Individual Medley and the 50m butterfly races for a total of 21 points to add on his earlier 25 points he had garnered on Saturday to take his league tally to 79 points.

John Kafumbe (40pts) was second best for the Seals who have continued to dominate the league meets aimed at raising competition among local swimmers.

Nabatanzi Ssinzi (39pts), Ssanyu Nambeguya Kagugube (36pts), Hannah Kyanda (31pts), Francesco Kagugube (31pts) and Chiara Nansamba (26pts) and Anthea Mudanye (28pts) all performed well in their respective age categories to leave their opponents from other clubs trailing.

Nuwa Ssenkebe who is currently the best swimmer in the long races won the 1500m freestyle racedid not have many individual events excited in the team relays and is also still on top of his category with over 80 points

Altona Club's Amos Bakka and Aurelie Duchateau were also good for 42 points each as they led their club's charge.

Swimmng in the 11-12 year's category, Ampaire Namanya, was third overall in this category while Latif Kajjumbi, Rachael Galinda Shaminah Kulabako were third, fourth and fifth overall also in their categories.

Makerere University had Ronald Daisuke Ssegwanyi and Emilly Babirye as their best swimmers while Sharks' Plaxida Nakabanda also excelled in the 9-10 year's category winning the 50m and 100m butterfly and 100m IM.

The International School of Uganda had Makonnen Yomni, Marin Chiara and Jonathan Vanhelleputte as some of their best swimmers.
