Byekwaso for Mr. Natural Universe

Uganda’s best Ivan Byekwaso is confident and ready to prove to the world that there is talent in Uganda as he prepares for his first appearance at Mr. Natural Universe Bodybuilding Competition starting September 5 in Texas, US.
Byekwaso also known as Mr. Kampala after winning a number of local body building events will depart for the US on Monday after securing sponsorship from Pembe Sports Africa own by Tanzanian based Jacob Pembe.
Though it’s the first time at the event that was started in 1948 attracting athletes among others actor Arnold Schwarzenegger who won the title thrice in 1968-70, Byekwaso is still convinced that he will put up a great show.
“I am set and aiming at winning the title. All the techniques are the same everywhere so am not scared of meeting any obstacles,” he said.
National Council of Sports (NCS) assistant general secretary David Katende who chaired the flag off ceremony at Lugogo on Friday and appealed to Byekwaso to perform to his best and not just look at winning the title being his first time.
“It’s never easy for a first timer to win a title at an event that has existed for year, all you have to do is play to your best and be recorgnised,” Katende stated.
