Business came to a standstill Wednesday after Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) sealed off Uganda House on Kampala road; Impala House, and Adam House "for failure to adhere to renovation notices issued to them."

Stranded tenants faulted their landlords for failing to comply with KCCA directives saying that they pay a lot of rent.

Businesses at the 13 storied Uganda House include: Uganda People’s Congress – UPC headquarters; Polyclinic; Stan Hope Forex bureau; Hot Loaf confectionery; offices of Voice of Toro; Unique Uniforms; Nytil; close to 10 Boutiques and Café Bravo, among others.

"This closure has affected our business; this is our head office and all the documents have been locked in the office they is no way we can operate," one of the managers of Voice of Toro, Brue Katuramu, told The New Vision.

There are about 30 offices at the Uganda House.

At Impala House the six storied building houses DFCU bank; offices, eateries, beauty parlors, stationery stores, and tour travel offices.

"We are sorry you will have to go to our branch on Crown House. KCCA has sealed off the bank," a customer care officer at DFCU Bank directed clients who had come to the bank.
