KAMPALA - The Police is investigating local musician Moses Sekibogo aka Mowzey Radio of the Goodlyfe crew, a music group, over allegations of malicious damage, assault and being in possession of marijuana.

According to police records, Radio was allegedly involved in a fist-fight with Jeff Kiwanuka, the group’s former manager.

The singer smashed Kiwanuka’s car’s windscreen while at Casablanca bar in Kololo, an upscale city suburb on Sunday, police information indicated.

However, he eluded the police who trailed him that night, but was later arrested at his home in Kizungu, Makidye division the following morning.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said Radio had been released on police bond pending ongoing investigations.

“They [investigations] include malicious damage, assault and possession of drugs,” Onyango said, adding the musician, who sings alongside partner Weasel, was nursing body wounds sustained in the brawl.

When contacted for a comment regarding the allegations, Radio said that their former manager Kiwanuka had organised a gang to attack him after they had suspended him as their manager.

“He was not doing well [financially] and this is a business. As a group, we decided to suspend him but it did not go down well with our brother who has decided to launch continuous attacks on me and other group members,” he said.

“I have wounds on my lips and a deep cut on my right wrist. With all that, I have recorded statements with the police in connection with the matter.”

On his part, Kiwanuka declined to speak to New Vision when he was called for a comment on the recent developments.

“Sorry you have called a wrong number,” he said, then he hang up.
