The President aid the NRM Government supported the restoration of cultural institutions that had been abolished by the Obote I administration, because they would go a long in serving as a medium through which our traditions and norms would be promoted and preserved.

Museveni urged the people of Kooki in particular and Uganda in general to take up income generating projects at household level in order to get rid of poverty.

He cited such projects like the cultivation of coffee and fruits as well as the keeping of poultry, rearing fish in ponds and piggery as activities that that can be done on a few acres of land so that household settings can derive income from them.

His Royal Highness Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli, in his remarks, welcomed the President to the Obwa Kamuswaga of Kooki and thanked him for honouring his invitation to be present at the celebrations.

He commended NRM Government and the President in particular for the support to the restoration of traditional institutions in the country. He expressed gratitude for the support rendered to the Obwa Kamuswaga over the years.
