As Christians prepare to mark the end of the Lent season tomorrow, vendors in Kampala made some money as they sold palms leaves in and around the city.

As Christians prepare to mark the end of the Lent season tomorrow, vendors in Kampala made some money as they sold palms leaves in and around the city.
Palm Sunday is celebrated a week to the Easter holiday. In Kampala areas around down town, vendors were busy calling on buyers to take home palm leaves at sh.500 to 1,000 in preparation for the day.

Boda-boda riders, taxis and other private cars where seen in the city flying with palm leaves, around the Old taxi Park, Usafi, Nakivubo, Kisenyi and around Kampala Road around worship places like Christ the King and Watoto Church among others.
“Am going to Iganga town for my weekend. I may not find these Palm leaves in the town,” a passenger who boarded a taxi to Iganga at Total Jinja Road told the New Vision.
On this day according to the Bible, Christians took palm branches and went out to meet Jesus, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" (John 12:12-13) as He rode on a donkey to Jerusalem.
Both Anglicans and Catholics celebrate this day.
