THE semi-final stage of Friday Night Lights (FNL) should inspire energetic performances from the four teams vying for a place in the final.

But before Team Amoding face Team Ikong and Team Sudi battle Team Blick today at the YMCA, a select side of local rugby players will face members of the media fraternity in a friendly contest that should feed the crowd on an entertaining diet of gaffes.

Still, the side that can keep greater control of their howlers should walk away with the bragging rights, as that’s all there is to gain from this match. It’s the FNL semi-finalists who have real prizes to gain, principally a spot in the championship game.

The first semi features maiden semi-finalists Team Amoding against record two-time champions Team Ikong in what should be a gripping contest. But it is Team Sudi’s progress in their maiden season in the FNL that has been one of the stories of this year’s edition.

Sudi Ulanga’s team have won all their matches in the tournament even though the games have been progressively harder. Still, it will take a special effort from Team Blick to knockout Team Sudi in today’s live match on Urban TV. Meanwhile, the prize for the KCB Blindshot Challenge is at sh7m and three challengers should have a crack at the bounty.

In the Zuku University Basketball League (ZUBL), red-hot Ndejje host Bugema at their Luweero Campus as they seek their fourth game in the tournament.

Ndejje are perfect in the ZUBL although two of their games have been out of conference, meaning the Angels actually have one win in Conference or Group B standings. Bugema made their ZUBL debut on Tuesday against St Lawrence in a Conference B contest.
