Team captain Phillip Kasozi is also on the team after topping one of the six groups that involved 24 players grouped in four-balls.

Toro’s Adolf Muhumuza, Ronald Otile, Ronald Rugumayo and Lawrence Muhenda are also on the team whose immediate task is winning the Zone 6 championship due in South Africa, April 14-17.

The six runners up who include Willy Kitatta, Peter Ssendawula, Joseph Mawejje, Happy Robert, Patrick Mugisha and Patrick Mwaka play each other in match play format today with the top 3 winners also qualifying.

The last slot on the ten-man team will be up to Coach Deo Akope to decide.

The coach will also select a reserve team of 5 players in accordance with the seeding for any standby purpose.

The rest of the players will after the qualifiers today compete in the president’s shield on Friday before returning home.

The top ten will continue going through drills that will include early morning physio exercises, range work and training sessions with professionals.

The zone six championship is set to tee off on April 14 with a singles round before the foursomes the following day and the Better ball contest thereafter.

Team Uganda will have two practice rounds in Cape Town before the championship.
