KCCA coach George Nsimbe believes his side can catch up with the league leaders if his team win their three games in hand.

KCCA beat Bright stars 3-1 at Nakivubo to move from 7th to 4th place on the table.

“I still believe we can win the league as it is still open, but we need to win our next three games to catch up with the rest and the see what happens,” Nsimbe said at Nakivubo.

A brace from William Wadri and Gadhafi Kiwanuka ensured the defending champions remained in contention.

Bright stars caused an early scare and took the lead through Hassan Kikoyo’s header off an Abukar Tabula free kick, in the first half.

But KCCA’s quick inter passing game saw them find an equalizer through William Wadri just before half time. The winger pounced on a Brian Majwega cross for the equalizer.

Two quick second half goals from Gadhafi Kiwanuka and William Wadri ensured the defending champions remained on course for another title with their 11th win of the season.

In the other games, table leaders Vipers continued with their unbeaten run as they defeated Victoria University 1-0 at Buikwe. Yunus Sentamu’s lone strike in the 84th minute keeps them on top of the table.

Soana’s Francis Olaki also bagged a brace against Proline at Lugogo with Andrew Kidega pulling one back for the hosts.

In Masaka, a Geoffrey Kizimula strike was cancelled out by Kira’s Richard Kasaga for the game to end in a 1-1 draw while in Jinja BUL drew 0-0 with Police.

The Express versus Simba match at Wankulukuku was abandoned with Express leading 1-0.

In Lugazi, URA shared the spoils against SC Villa with Simeon Masaba and David Bagoole scoring for either side.
