IN a bid to build loyalty among serving athletes, KCCA FC will reward long serving former players Tom Lwanga, Bidandi Ssali and the late Philip Omondi for their dedicated service rendered to the club.

Bidandi and Lwanga on top serving as players dedicated themselves to the club after retiring from active football as coaches of the club for many years.

Bidandi served as a player, coach and club chairman and later as club patron while Lwanga served as player, coach and later as the institution’s sports officer until last year when he retired.

“We are confident that the awards will put a smile on their faces. The trio enjoys a cult hero status at KCC FC and this will motivate young ones to further serve the club with dedication” club vice chairman Allan Ssewanyana confirmed the development.

The life time achievement awards will be presented to Bidandi (Presidential award for his exceptional administrative roles), Tom Lwanga (Captain’s award) and a posthumous award to Omondi.

The ceremony will be held shortly before KCC FC take on El Merrikh in the CAF Champions League return leg on Saturday at Namboole Stadium.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga will be the chief guest.

She will be joined by other high profile dignitaries from KCCA including club patron and embattled Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, together with Executive Director Jennifer Musisi among officials.

KCCA go into the game with a 2-0 aggregate lead after their impressive away win in Khartoum.
