Investigations into the alleged gang-rape of a 23-year-old Ugandan house-help committed by four Pakistan nationals is incomplete, court has been informed.

State Attorney, Grace Tushabe informed court, presided over by Grade One Magistrate, Juliet Hatanga of City Hall Court that the Police probe was yet to be complete.

She asked for more time to enable the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to compile enough evidence against the four Pakistan nationals charged with gang rape and sodomy.

It’s alleged that Ahamad Shahbaz, Muhammad Wagas alongside Zaheer Muhammed and Sadiq Muhammad, who are still at large, performed a sexual act against the order of nature and committed gang-rape to the prejudice of a 23-year-old woman.

The court further remanded the two Pakistan nationals to Luzira prison and extended a warrant of arrest for the other two who are still at large.

The magistrate adjourned the case to March 18, 2014 for mention and query into the status of the investigation.

Prosecution alleges that the suspects and others still at large committed the offence between December, 2012 and July, 2013 at their home in Kiwatule, a Kampala suburb.

The lady, names withheld, was working for the men as a house help at the time of the rape, which reportedly occurred in July. She alleged that the culprits had bribed the officer handling her case before she sought assistance from the media.

However, a senior Police officer heard about her ordeal on the news and re-opened the file leading to the arrest of the two Pakistanis.

Clad in white and black T-shirts, the two suspects who appeared in court looked worried and pensive, as they stood in the dock, as the State Prosecutor calls for adjournment of the case due to the in-complete investigations.
