EAST Coast club are looking for double success on the domestic stage.

The Naguru-based club has entered the National Boxing Intermediate Championship after winning the novices crown last month.

The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) intermediate competition will be held January 11 to 18.

UBF is yet to decide on the venue.

But the federation’s organising secretary Paul Ayiasi told New Vision yesterday that they are looking at either the Centenary Park or MTN Arena, Lugogo.

The championship, due to have been held two weeks ago, was postponed due to lack of money.

Ayiasi said that though they do not have enough funds, the competition will go on as scheduled.

East Coast boxers, led by Habib Mambo, are again title contenders in this event after a period of top level preparations.

The club will be up against the Community Organisation based Aids Programme Boxing Club (COBAP).

Police and UPDF have entered the event. The competition has also attracted the Mbarara-based Osborn Mandela club.
