Delivery and commissioning of a Roll On-Roll Off Ferry and a Slip Way for Zengebe-Namasale Crossing.

1. The Government of the Republic of Uganda has applied for the financing in the amount of US$ 120 Million equivalent from the Islamic Development toward the cost of Upgrading of Tirinyi-Palisa-Kumi/ Palisa-Kamonkoli road Project, and
it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

2. The objectives of the Project are to: (a) upgrade111.25km existing earthen/ gravel roads between Tirinyi to Kumi and Pallisa to Kamonkoli to asphaltic paved road standard to reduce travel time, operational cost and economic losses; increase comfort, safety and reliability during travel; meet current and future transport demands; and (b) help accelerate economic activities by improving access of people to social amenities, market places, business and employment opportunities resulting from improved internal and sub-regional connectivity.
