Vision Group editor and rally driver, Joshua Kato has vowed to get a podium finish at the end of year rally sprint on Boxing Day at Festino cite in Mukono.
Kato, who drives an old Toyota Apex in the 2WD category said that lying 4th in the category of 12 drivers is a motivating force for him to step up his game for a top three finish.
“This is the last event of the season and I’m determined to win this championship for better seeding next year,” he said.
Kato cautioned those underestimating him because of his old Toyota Apex. He says his critics should brace themselves for a huge surprise instead.
“I know my car is older than many of the others but it is more powerful and I should not be ruled out of the podium finish because of my car.”
“I have competed in seven rallies this year and completed all of them, which gives me confidence that I will complete the Boxing Day rally in the podium bracket,” said the driver.
In the overall championship, Ismail Otega beat all and was followed by Omar Mayanja and Sabiiti Muyanja in the second and third position respectively. Kato finished 4th.
