MIDDLE distance runner and Africa University cross country Gold medallist Ronald Musagala has threatened to pull out of the Africa and World Cross Country Championship next year.

This after the 21 year old student of Kampala University was disqualified from the ongoing NUSFU games at Uganda Christian Mukono on grounds that he doesn’t have sufficient academic documents to prove his eligibility.

“If am not eligible why did they allow me to compete in the Africa University Cross Country Championship in Entebbe last month? This is just double standards,” a disappointed Musagala stated.

“I sat S.4 at King of Kings Iganga and when my results returned in March I joined Kampala University and I’m studying a diploma in leisure management,”Musagala explained.

A NUSFU official who preferred anonymity confirmed the development.

“We all know that there is no way you can be a university student when you didn’t sit S.6 or completed any other certificate course that is equivalent to A ‘Level that will enable you join University,” the official said.

Musagala was however allowed to run as a guest runner in the 400m race.
