Sports Club Villa chairman and his executive are ready to hand over power to any club fan that wants to take it to another step.

Ssalongo Ssemanda disclosed this in an interview after learning that a section of fans that pioneered the election of Fred Muwema as Villa president were planning to front former club fans’ coordinator Eng. Ben Misagga for the top seat come next year’s elective assembly in April.

“I know people don’t appreciate and I want to assure you that there is no club that has no differences, be it KCCA FC, but all in all we have done our part and we are ready to surrender power to whoever comes,” Ssemanda stated.

The official however faulted the fans for taking a wrong forum to front Misagga for the club’s chairmanship without his knowledge.

“We are all Villa fans, and they should have contacted me as members of Villa to iron out the club problems if any exists.

“But am just hearing that Misagga wants leadership yet he is nowhere to be seen. We all want Misagga and any other person that can contribute to the development of Villa,” said the current chairman.

The fans, under their umbrella body Sports Club Villa Fans Association, sat at Mandela hotel Namboole on Wednesday where they laid strategies of bringing Misagga into office.

“Yes we agree that the current Villa leadership has done its best, but financially they are still wanting yet the club needs money,” said Mohamed Ssembajja who is part of the association.

“We have approached Misagga and he is willing to rescue the club.”

The fans urged Misagga to meet the current executive headed by Ssemanda and pave a way forward for a smooth leadership transition.

“We want him [Misagga] to harmonize with the current executive before the elections so that when he comes to power he remains in good relationship with them for a better Villa.”
