Today 9th December 2013, the Inspectorate of Government celebrates its Jubilee Anniversary as it joins the rest of the world to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day.

Today 9th December 2013, the Inspectorate of Government celebrates its Jubilee Anniversary as it joins the rest of the world to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day. The International Anti-Corruption Day has been observed since 2004 to take stock of the efforts undertaken to fight corruption as well as raise people’s awareness about corruption.

This day is observed in over 148 countries worldwide which are signatories to the United National Convention Against Corruption. Uganda ratified the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2004. The theme for this year is “25 years of fighting Corruption in Uganda: Way Forward.” This is to take stock and review the strategies of fighting corruption after 25 years of establishing the Inspectorate of Government as the lead Anti Corruption Agency
