Busy Signal performs to massive crowds in Kampala

Jamaican dancehall star, Busy Signal, was overwhelmed by the thousands of crowds that stormed Lugogo Cricket Oval when he took to stage Friday evening, saying this was the show of the year on his side and ours.

He got on stage at 10:53pm local time after a myriad of curtain raising acts that included singers Rema Nalumansi, Young Mulo, Big Eye and also comedy skits from Salvador Idringi, Alex Muhangi and Little Joes.
 
There was also a turntable spinning battle between renowned deejays Urban TV’s Shiru, DJ Roger and XFM’s Beekay before his band got on stage to set up equipment and start off the night.

In a cloud of smoke, Busy Signal leapt on stage amid wild screams from revelers, especially the female ones, and straight away swept through his playlist.

Songs like “Reggae Music Again,” “Comfort Zone,” “Sweet Love,” “One More Night” and his latest and lesser known ones were all performed in a two-hour energetic performance.
 
Between intervals, he changed outfits from the black shirt and waistcoat to a white shirt that was given to him by one fan at Urban TV upon his arrival on Thursday.

The shirt had Jamaican and Ugandan flags on the sleeves. He also used his show to pay tribute to fallen icons Nelson Mandela, actor Paul Walker and Congolese artiste Tabu Ley.

The show that was organized by Suudiman, KT Promotions, Vision Group’s Urban TV and Fenon Events went on upto 1:45pm. He will be performing at Spennah Beach, Entebbe on Sunday. Check out the massively attended show www.newvision.co.ug/gallery/gallery.aspxhere
