Bus overturns in Mpigi, scores injured

Three people were seriously injured and several others sustained minor injuries when a Kampala bound Gaso bus registration number UAH 864V over turned at Kalagala in Mpigi district.

The injured were identified as Ahamad Lukyamuzi, 62, a resident of Nyendo in Masaka, Abdul Ntege aged 32 of Nyendo and Angella Zalwango of Masaka.

They were rushed to Mpigi health center in critical condition with broken limbs and arms for first aid and later taken to Mulago hospital.

According to one of the passengers on a bus, the driver was trying to overtake a taxi.

Abdul Kharid Gamal, the regional traffic officer attributed the cause for the accident to over speeding and reckless driving.
