Simba v SCVU (Bombo)

SC Victoria’s marginal lead in the FUFA Super League could be crushed by any of the five teams but with ex-international Mike Sserumaga’s form hitting the top, coach Alex Isabirye has no worries.

SCVU travel to Bombo to face Simba satisfi ed with Sserumaga’s work rate which he is counting on to feed the striking duo of Simon Okwi and Dan Nsubuga as they seek to build on their one point lead over KCCA, Vipers and Soana.

Sserumaga, who signed a two-year contract with Victoria from Vietnam had a special fitness regime which paid off with a man-of-the match performance in his side’s victory over URA last week.

“Sserumaga was not with us during pre-session and he had to work on endurance. That’s the reason he wasn’t starting matches initially. He is fully fit now. I expect him to support in leadership and the final attack which will open the striking line,” Isabirye stated.

Isabirye is also impressed with Sserumaga’s work rate and influence on the team.

“His experience is of great value to the team. The Sserumaga I knew was quiet on the pitch but he is now noticeable. He works, speaks much more to his teammates and supports to chase the ball,” Isabirye told New Vision Sport

BUL confident

Meanwhile, BUL FC captain Patrict Asiku has vowed to lead his team mates to an all important victory over Kiira Young.

“I see nothing but a big win when we host Kiira Young today. If record champions SC Villa, URA FC, Masaka LC FC and Victoria University failed to win here then how about Kiira Young? They will face it rough against us.

“The crowd at Kakindu has been massive. I see nothing but a big win. Victory will see us in the top three,” he added.
