Buganda Kingdom is to step up sensitization campaign programs against the spread of HIV/AIDS in the region.
This Kingdom minister for Health, Dr Kiwanuka Mukwaya, has announced.
He told a news conference at Bulange Mengo on Monday that the campaign is geared towards lowering the HIV/AIDS prevalence which is high in Buganda compared to other regions.
The minister was releasing the program for Buganda Health day slated for November 9 at Ngando County headquarters in Butambala district.
He said the celebrations will help the health experts design measures to address the causes that have led to an increase in the HIV/AIDS cases.
The health day will be marked under the “HIV/AIDS”.
Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II is expected to preside over the celebrations.
