Advice from the Kenyan Government to CECAFA and the local football federation FKF to seek sponsorship from the private sector to host the 2013 Senior Challenge Cup appears to be paying off.

CECAFA secretary general Nicholas Musonye confirmed on Sunday that they had secured a title sponsor for the competition which they hope to unveil by Friday this week.

“Yes, it is true we have got a sponsor for the Challenge Cup. Do you want to come over and cover the unveiling event? I will let you people in Kampala know (unveil) before Wednesday,” Musonye said.

CECAFA requires approximately Ksh60m (Ush1.8b) to stage the annual event in Kenya.

FKF president Sam Nyamweya also told the press over the weekend that they were due to unveil a title sponsor for the tournament scheduled for November 27 - December 12.

Nyamweya finally said over the weekend: “I can confidently say that the title sponsors will be unveiled next (this) week. This will go a long way in us hosting a successful tournament in Kenya.”
