Chango Macho to get State funeral

The former senior presidential advisor on political affairs, Chango Macho w’Obanda is to be honored with a state funeral on Sunday.

 
Family members confirmed that Chango will be buried this week on Sunday at Hasyule village, Lumino Sub County, in Busia district, with President Yoweri Museveni expected amongst the mourners.
 
Chango, 86, who died on Tuesday was also a founding member of the Uganda Patriotic Movement (UPM) in 1980 which was then led by President Yoweri Museveni.
 
There will be a public viewing of his body on Friday at his home in Najeera with a vigil, before the hearse departs for his ancestral home in Busia ahead of burial on Saturday.
 
On Saturday, there will be a vigil at his home in Busia before burial on Sunday at 2pm. Later on November 5 after Parliament returns from recess, there will be a session in his honour.
