Second EAC private sector day for October 4

The East African Business Council (EABC) is organising the 2nd EAC Private Sector Day to take place in Nairobi, Kenya on October 4.

The East African Business Council (EABC) is organising the 2nd EAC Private Sector Day to take place in Nairobi, Kenya on October 4.

EAC Day is set aside to celebrate the regional integration process and to showcase businesses at the forefront of taking advantage of the process. The first EAC Day was celebrated on the October 5, 2012.

According to a statement, the 2nd EAC Private Sector Day will bring together public officials and business leaders to celebrate the integration process and appreciate private sector players that have embraced the integration process.

Dona Sava, the EABC communications manager, in a statement said the event will be held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski, in Westlands, Nairobi.

She said the event would comprise of giving out awards as well as certificates to regional private sector players.

Also, other activities to mark the event include a regional networking breakfast meeting, a luncheon as well as a cocktail to be co-hosted by EABC.

The EABC is the apex body of business associations of the private sector and corporates from the five EAC member states of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
