Kobs beat Buffaloes 21-10 at Kyadondo Rugby Club in a repeat of the Jinja final to stretch their table points lead.

Kobs now have 61 points, ahead of second place Buffaloes (57 points) and Hima Cement Heathens (52 points).

They entered Saturday’s circuit with the edge against Buffaloes after whipping Jinja Hippos 34-0 in the quarterfinals before smashing a much improved Pirates 22-7 in the semis.

"I'm glad we won this circuit and we will be out to seal the title chase on home turf," said Kobs team captain James Ijongat.

"We are not going to relax and instead work hard so that we are not humiliated at home.”

However, his Buffaloes counterpart Alfred Bijik told New Vision that they have not yet given up on the trophy and that the four point deficit against Kobs can be overturned.

"We played back-to-back games and had little time to rest, but we shall fight back in the final round at Legends," he vowed.

Buffaloes beat Mutoni Warriors 14-7 in their quarterfinal duel before upsetting hosts Hima Cement Heathens 12-7 in the semifinals.

Alhaji Manano and Justin Kimono scored for Kobs while Alfred Bijik and Kapale Ngolobe scored for Buffaloes in an enthralling final.

The Legends circuit will be the final where the champion will be crowned next Saturday (August 22).

The National 7s tournament has four circuits and the team that accumulates the highest points in all the four circuits is declared champion.
