Ten-man Vipers beat SC Villa Jogoo 5-3 in penalties after a goalless draw to win the FUFA Super Cup at Nakivubo Stadium Saturday.

Ten-man Vipers beat SC Villa Jogoo 5-3 on penalties after a goalless draw to win the FUFA Super Cup at Nakivubo Stadium Saturday.
The FUFA Super Cup was the new season's curtain raiser between the Azam Uganda Premier League champions Vipers FC and Uganda Cup winners SC Villa Jogoo.

SC Villa Jogoo, who had an opportunity to win the match, missed a penalty in the 41st minute after Vipers defender Halidi Lwarilrwa brought down midfielder Godfrey Lwesibawa.

Lwarilrwa was later shown matching orders before new signing Robert Achema missed the chance in 43rd minute to give SC Villa a lead.
It was also the first game in which Erias Ssekisambu was facing his former employers SC Villa. Ssekisambu joined Vipers from SC Villa Jogoo at the start of June on a three-year deal.

Ssekisambu, who was voted the MVP of the Uganda Cup, helped SC Villa Jogoo lift the knock out competition last season.
During the same game, Vipers midfielder Deus Bukenya was voted man of match and was awarded a trophy for his performance.
Vipers also won a cash prize of Sh1.5m while SC Villa Jogoo got Sh500,000.
