Benjamin Kiplagat has got a special invitation to take part in the IAAF World Athletics Championships due August 22–30 in Beijing.

Benjamin Kiplagat has got a special invitation to take part in the IAAF World Athletics Championships due August 22–30 in Beijing.

World athletics body IAAF wrote to domestic entity UAF inviting Kiplagat for the 3000m men’s steeplechase race despite the runner’s failure to make the qualifying grade.

The team, flying out on Monday, also has Stephen Kiprotich, Abraham Kiplimo, Solomon Mutai and Jackson Kiprop (marathon), Joshua Cheptegei, Timothy Toroitich and Moses Kibet (10000m), Philip Kipyeko (5000m), Ronald Musagala (1500m) and Juliet Chekwel (10000m).
