The 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League games will played on Wednesday and Saturday.

The amendment from the traditional days of Tuesdays and Fridays in the last five seasons, has come as a result of clubs' demands that weekends should as well have fixtures to cater for the working class and families.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) board, Bernard Bainamani, confirmed the development during the weekly FUFA press Conference Wednesday at Mengo.

"Our matches will be played on Wednesday and Saturdays. In case of any  circumstances, some games will be rescheduled to be played week days,"  Bainamani said.

The Azam Uganda Premier League season 2015/2016 will kick off August 22 with the fixtures set to be released Thursday.

Five teams, including KCCA FC, URA,Vipers,BUL,Express received the full season licenses to play in the top flight while ten clubs received provisional licenses as they have not fulfilled  all  the requirements to play in the league.

The licenses last till  the  first round of the season. The clubs are; Jinja Municipal Council (JMC), The Saints, Simba, SC Villa Jogoo, Soana, BrightStars, Maroons, Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU), Sadolin Paint and Police.

Lweza were demoted to the FUFA Big League for failure to have  the maximum requirements needed.

They however petitioned  to the Appeals Committee so they still have  chance to be pardoned.
