UGANDA Cranes defender Godfrey Walusimbi has re-joined SC Villa on a six-month renewable contract with SC Villa.
The move follows his former DR Congo club, Don Bosco, failing to object the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) request made on the FIFA Transfer Matching System by SC Villa on advice of the world soccer governing body.
Walusimbi had through his lawyers Agaba Muhairwe and company advocates decided to terminate his contract with the club for non-payment since March this year.
According to Edgar Agaba who wrote to Don Bosco on August 1, they wrote to FIFA Players’ Status & Governance Department on August 21 after failing to get a reply from Don Bosco.
“It was them that advised us to get the player’s Power of attorney which Walusimbi gave us and also entered into contract with SC Villa. FIFA also wrote to Don Bosco seeking for their side of the story which was expected to be received by September 17,” said Agaba.
Agaba said that they never replied nor objected to the request, which saw the system give Walusimbi a one-year provisional certificate.
According to Agaba, he is expected to play for the club and also has plans to be part of the CHAN team.
Walusimbi has played for local side Bunamwaya in the past and trained with Proline recently.
