AFTER masterminding back to back wins in their two build-up games, the She Cranes now feel ready for the Netball World Cup.

Uganda beat Singapore 38-19 before thumping Samoa 75-52 in Thursday’s friendly match at the All Phones Arena.

On Friday morning, the She Cranes launch their World Cup campaign in Sydney, Australia with a target of making the knockout stages of the prestigious tournament.

They were due to battle Zambia in an all-Africa affair before confronting Fiji on Saturday.

Both Uganda and Zambia are making their second World Cup appearance.

Zambia last fielded a team at the event in 1999 while Uganda made their first appearance at the same event 36 years ago in 1979.

Unlike Zambia who still has a player, Diana Banda on the team, all 12 She Cranes players are making their maiden appearance.

The She Cranes team that includes skipper Peace Proscovia, Rachael Nanyonga, Florence Amono, Stella Oyella, Ruth Meeme, Halima Nakachwa, Lillian Ajio, Florence Nanyonga, Harriet Apako, Betty Namukasa, Jesca Achan and Alice Nanteza was flagged off by President Yoweri Museveni on Friday last week.

All the World Cup matches will be broadcasted live on GOtv, SuperSport Select 2 channel.
