Eddy Kenzo lands Airtel deal

Sensational Ugandan artiste and BET Viewers’ Choice Best International Artiste award winner, Eddy Kenzo has been named Airtel Uganda’s brand ambassador for the It’s Now campaign.

Sensational Ugandan artiste and BET Viewers’ Choice Best International Artiste award winner, Eddy Kenzo has been named Airtel Uganda’s brand ambassador for the It’s Now campaign.


This announcement comes only a few weeks after Airtel Africa announced a new Pan-African campaign; dubbed It’s Now; that seeks to nurture and grow talent in Africa through various consumer touch points such as sports, lifestyle and music while providing customers with access to connectivity and technological solutions that will enable them explore opportunities around them.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Serena Conference Centre on Thursday, July 9th, 2015, the Airtel Uganda Managing Director, Tom Gutjahr expressed that Eddy Kenzo is a real life example of someone that has worked his way from the streets to a respectable position not only in the Ugandan music industry but the entire world.

“Eddy is a great example that anybody can have the potential to rise from a very humble background and become a star,” Tom said.

Kenzo on the other hand expressed his utmost pleasure to work with Airtel on this campaign saying, “Airtel is a company that always endeavours to go on the ground to help the common man and I must say I am proud to be the ambassador of this campaign that is aimed at enabling many of our young people to discover their potential to succeed in life through their talents.”

A glowing Kenzo went ahead to promise that he will do everything he can as the It’s Now campaign ambassador to change the lives of many young Ugandans in a bid to give them hope for a successful future.

“I will be going to the grassroots to help identify and inspire young Ugandans to reach out for their goals and help them to realise that the only time they can start working on their dreams is now; it’s now,” the Sitya Loss star explained.

The It’s Now campaign as unveiled today will see Kenzo support Airtel’s corporate social responsibility; particularly in youth empowerment for development.
