Rally drivers competing in the UMC rally in Fort Portal on Saturday and Sunday will not incur any fuel costs.


This is after TOTAL Uganda gave them 3000 litres of fuel worth sh10m for the event.

TOTAL Human resource and administration manager, Susan Nampala handed over the package to UMC president Shem Ssenkatuka, the organisers of the event at a press briefing held  at the company offices in Nalukulongo.

Meanwhile Duncan Mubiru .aka. Kikankane in a Subaru N16 has vowed to win the UMC Mountain of the Moon rally in Fort Portal.

Kikankane, a crowd favourite told New Vision that he will use this opportunity to close the point gap between him and Arthur Blick Jr. whom he is trailing with 85 points on the National rally Championship (NRC) point standings.

Duncan (175 pts.), 85 behind leader Blick on 260 said, "The car is set and I'm going to show them that I have been driving with whites in Europe (Cyprus)," Kikankane stated with confidence.

"The power of this car is perfect and it picks up easily unlike the other N14," He added.

The rally has attracted 31 drivers.
