Raising Voices is a non-governmental organization working to prevent violence against women and children in Uganda. Part of this work involves working with schools to prevent violence and promote better learning outcomes among children using a documented methodology called the Good School Toolkit (GST). The GST is a collection of tools and ideas that educators use to explore what a good school is and guides them through a six step systematic
and practical process of creating one.
Currently, GST is being used in over 450 schools in diverse regions of the country. Raising Voices has been selected by the Girls Education Challenge (GEC) to receive funding from the Department For International Development (DFID) to roll out the GST in additional 800 primary schools.
