UGANDANS living in Boston, Massachusetts have paid a glowing tribute to the late Mary Kisekka the wife to fallen ex-Vice President Dr. Samson Kisekka.

In a special memorial service organized by the Ugandan community in Boston at St Peters Church Waltham, speaker after speaker described the late Mrs. Kisekka as a loving mother who never discriminated anybody regardless of their background and social status.

“We should all emulate what Maama Mary Kisekka has done for our country Uganda and also ensure that we put it in practice,” said Kato Kajubi, the Kabaka’s special representative in America.

Sheikh Rajab Mayanja, who represented the Ugandan Muslim community in Boston, praised the late Mary Kisekka for what he called her ‘distinguished’ character which he urged Ugandans to borrow a leaf.

“The late Mary Kisekka has left us with many things the visible and invisible. But the only one thing we can do is to stick to the Lord just like Mrs. Kisekka did. Because where she is gone is the same way we shall take,” said Pastor Katende

Speaking on behalf of the family, one of the late Kisekka’s children Paul Kisekka, described his late mother as a God fearing person who loved God unconditionally.

He further described his mother as friendly person who loved socializing with people adding that; “Through her life, our mother has been a lovely person who loved being with people”.

In their message the grand children eulogized their grandmother as someone who loved prayer, something she taught them as they grew up.

The prayers to remember Mary Kisekka were led by Pastor Henry Martin, Rev Christine Nakyeyune, Pastor Samuel Mutyaba and Pastor Benon Kawaala.

The prayers were broadcasted live on Radio Uganda Boston. Mrs. Kisekka died mid last month due to high blood pressure and diabetes. She was laid to rest on May June 20 at Temangalo in Wakiso district.

Born on October 2, 1923, Mrs. Kisekka passed on 16 years after the death of her husband who had an illustrious political career, notably as Uganda's Prime Minister (1986-1991) and as vice president (1991-1994).
