KAMPALA - KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi has implored KCCA FC players and the new club executive to win back the Azam Premier League trophy they lost to Vipers, next year.

Musisi was speaking to the players and managers during a function at which the team's sponsors StarTimes launched a fans registration drive at the Phillip Omondi stadium on Saturday.

The initiative is aimed at capturing at least 200,000 in the next five years. Musisi and StarTimes marketing director Aldrine Nsubuga were the first to register at the function.

Nsubuga later presented Musisi and KCCA FC players with StarTimes decoders each, with five month subscription.

"Next season, you must bring back that trophy the Vipers won this year, because it is ours; it belongs to KCCA FC," Musisi said.

"But first, I understand we have a cup final in Ntungamo on June 6; we had just lent that trophy to URA FC that is why we eliminated them, so on June 6 we must bring it back, and to show that I'm serious I will come and support you. We have to bring Ntungamo to a standstill and I'm sure we shall come back victorious," Musisi added.

She said the authority will no longer entertain mediocre performance from the different sports teams they support.

"We are the best government agency, so as we lead the other side, you must also be winning this side, and we must lead as others follow,"

She assured the team of full support before telling the players that they had registered a SACCO for them which they will use to improve their personal welfare.

"We have improved allowances, wellbeing, bought new equipment and everything but we thought we needed to do something more to improve their livelihoods so we have registered a SACCO for the players with an initial sh100m as a revolving fund to enable them do things that they would not be able to do. We are going to do this for our different teams, beginning July 1," Musisi stated.

She said on top of the artificial turf that FIFA/FUFA is going to lay at Lugogo, there were also other plans to improve the stadium in conjunction with other sponsors.

KCCA FC Chairman Julius Raymond Kabugo outlined a number of goals the new executive wants to achieve in the short and long run.

Streamlining the legal status of the club, development of KCCA FC strategic plan, rebranding the club to match the KCCA institutional image, streamlining the financial management systems of the club and strengthening the squad and technical teams to enhance performance on the pitch are some of their set targets.
