They are determined to battle to the last minute even after their Africa Nations Championship first leg home loss ten days ago.

Taifa Stars are doing everything within their means in their quest to reverse the 1-0 loss to the Uganda Cranes.

The Tanzanians, who are expected here on Thursday, have not only camped in Mwanza, which has a similar climate with central Uganda, but were last week also morale boosted with a special dinner hosted by their sponsors Tanzania Breweries.

“The team is in high spirits. Fitness levels are also okay,” said coach Kim Poulsen, adding that they are determined to reverse the result at Namboole.

“It is a tall order but we believe our players have what it takes to stun the Cranes at their own field,” said Tanzania Breweries Lake Zone manager Malaki Sitaki.

TFF Director for Competitions Saad Kawemba has also warned that it is not all over. He told the team to battle up to the final whistle.

Denis Iguma scored the crucial goal for Uganda in Dar es Salaam, a result that Federation of Uganda Football Associations president Lawrence Mulindwa and coach Milutin Sredojevich have cautioned not to be taken for granted.

That was Mulindwa’s message to the team on return as he rewarded them with cash prizes. Mulindwa is determined to further make the point to the team tomorrow when he hosts them to a dinner at Imperial Royale Hotel.

Uganda is on the brink of qualifying for a second consecutive CHAN final tournament. The tournament will be in South Africa early next year.

Qualification for the event will further boost a nation that was last month thrilled by World Cup qualification wins over Liberia and Angola. The Cranes will, after this weekend’s fixture, shift their focus to the World Cup game away against Senegal in Morocco.
