Bukedde FM has unveiled new programmes as the station improves its programming aimed to serve its target listeners better.
Bill Tibingana, the Head of Radio in Vision Group says the station will play more music and has added a repertoire of programmes intended to provide more entertainment to its audience.
The radio station's new catchword is, “Omuziki Ssonsomola n'egulire erikugasa.” To popularise the new programmes, the radio also has a promotion dubbed Omubanda, where winners get sh500,000 daily by identifying Omubanda wa Bukedde FM.
Abbey Kibirango the station manager for Bukedde FM during the launch yesterday said that following UMAPS survey report that ranked Bukedde FM in the top four stations, the audiences suggested changes for them to enjoy the station better than before.
The fresh innovations will enable Bukedde FM provide the most competitive programmes amongst Luganda radio stations in the country, according to the managers.
The changes will now see Bukedde FM play more music, with well refined news updates and bulletins. The station will also play music hits, both local and international blended with humour. Other changes included restructuring of different shows and presenters
The new programmes include:"Washing Bay "will be an evening drive show from 3 to 7pm featuring TichaTicha, Simo, Mazaza and Bonita; and this will be the biggest evening drive show, depicting city behavior, fun, lugambo and latest music hits.
Kasensero Count Down provides the hottest music countdown in town by Big Man Bills BMB starting at 9pm. While Ekwano-Love, a late night show with music hits, abanoonya and love greetings from 10pm to 1am.
