Youth coaches Kefa Kisala and Daniel Kiwanuka are in Hoima district to scout for young talent at the 2015 COPA Coca Cola finals that started Tuesday.
While launching its ‘Vision Cameroon 2019 a fortnight ago, FUFA announced that it would scout for fresh talent from the COPA Coca Cola, regional tournaments and the Cranes na Mutima tours around the country.
FUFA technical team headed by Hamid Juma believes that the process will help them tap talent from the underage categories to the senior level.
Head Coach Micho Sredojevic has drawn a national football development project code-named ‘Vision Cameroon 2019’ that should see Uganda grow through different competitions if it must qualify for the Nations Cup.
Some of the players spotted from Hoima are expected to join Uganda’s campaign to represent Africa in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In May the U-23 team will face the winner Somalia and Rwanda in the Africa championship in a bid to qualify for the Olympics.
Uganda has already featured in the Africa U-17 Championship and the All Africa Games qualifiers for the U-23 team but both teams were ejected.
