Vipers SC coach Edward Golola rallied his players to remain focused for their remaining five league games this season after a crucial win over rivals KCCA.

The reigning champions were on the wrong side of luck as two own goals subjected them to defeat that dented heavily their hopes of retaining the title.

And the loss at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Kampala will prove difficult to come to terms with, considering that coach Abdallah Mubiru’s men were looking to close in on the leaders.

Now trailing Vipers by six points and with the league soon coming to an end, KCCA’s belief in keeping the title remains low.

Joseph Ochaya and Yasin Mugabi turned the ball into the wrong net to gift the visitors victory that will more than boost their morale as well as consolidate their grip at the top.

But sensing that they are only two points ahead of their closest challengers SC Villa, who beat Soana FC 3-1, Vipers’ coach Golola is looking keenly over his shoulder and has told his players to keep their foot on the pedal.

He said his side will play each remaining league game as a final.

Meanwhile, SC Villa is still hot-on-the-heels of Vipers with 54 points after an important away win over Soana at Kavumba Recreation grounds, thanks to a Victor Emenayo brace and a Erias Sekisambu strike.

At Wankulukuku Stadium, Lweza beat Police 1-0 while Kira Young defeated Express FC at home.

In Mutagga, it was a stalemate affair between home side Bright Stars and URA.
