It should have started much earlier, but word on the streets of Arua is that many did not want to be the first to taste the waters.

That said, the Coca-Cola Rated Next  #CRN3 auditions have started out here in Arua, and so has the drama.  First to audition was a one German Alingimana, singing Jamal's Abakyala bazira.

Sadly judges Esther Nabaasa, Siima Sabiiti and Ken Kayondo did not like it.  "You have got an okay voice but you are singing from the throat. Sorry it's a no!" Siima said as the others agreed.

The next audition had the judges wishing German had stayed longer. "I am going to sing Winner by Gravity Omutujju," one Gilbert Twate, roared.

Next thing they knew; he was talking, not singing, just talking! And when asked to sing, he said yes and simply continued with the talk. It was a no for him!

It rather got worse; right after Douglas Otyon stepped in next with a song he claimed to have composed for Coca-Cola Rated Next.

"This is Coca-Cola rated next sing it. Arua is number one. Arua is gonna gonna…" he comically cried out and was stopped by Ken who said he should try doing ads instead.

Then came Nancy Kenzo, who claimed to love Eddy Kenzo and she sung Lilian Mbabazi's Danger.  The response to her audition was; "are you hungry?" All hope was lost until Angel, a single mother walked in and did a Mariah Carey song.

The judges thought her diction was bad and asked that she sing in a language she was comfortable with. She did, choosing a French song and they loved it! Then came, Esther Lamono, whose performance of Adele's Fire to the rain, blew the judges. They all applauded her, and gave her a very firm yes. By 2pm, only two had made it to the next round.
